A selection of work by the painter Amy Moffat will go on show in the Standpoint Gallery for the whole of July, with the opening tonight (2 July) from 6-9pm.
The show, entitled Surface - Image - Event will present the work of five painters whose first thought is towards the act of painting, for whom the subject comes about as a result of this act. Like Moffat, the other four painters involved in the show tread a line between the representative and the abstract, the real and the illusionary.
Initial images from the artists put together look really good - in particular, Nick Carrick and Ilona Szalay's work looking very promising. Moffat too will be showing a combination of work from murmurART and several new pieces that she has done specifically for the show. In all it should be well worth a trip down to Hoxton Square.
For more information on the show, the opening times and how to get there, see the Standpoint Gallery website.
