This week's preview of exhibitions and events covering a range of artist's work from young emerging stars to established key figures.
WEDNESDAY
The RBS Bursary Awards 2009 are a showcase for the best contemporary three-dimensional practice. The exhibition composes ten sculptors who have been selected and presented with this prestigious award. Bringing the exhibition to a close the Bursary winners will take part in a free talk at the RBS Gallery this evening from 6.30 - 8.30pm.
THURSDAY
Tank.tv is an online gallery for artist's moving image and this Thursday, for one night only, tank.tv will be screening the work of nine artist's involved in their 2009 Solo Show Programme. tank.tv: From John to Sebastian at Tate Modern features several new productions to be premiered at Tate.
From a showcase of artist's moving image to the retrospective of a seminal figure in the history of video art, Peter Campus: Opticks is just a stroll away down the river at the BFI Southbank Gallery. Work's are shown in both the gallery and the cinema and offer the viewer a rare opportunity to appraise the corpus of an artist who has contributed greatly to the development of the creative use of video and whose has influenced two generations of practitioners.
FRIDAY
One exhibition not to miss before it closes is Anish Kapoor at the Royal Academy. This major solo exhibition of the internationally acclaimed artist and 1991 Turner Prize winner surveys Kapoor's career as well as showcasing new and previously unseen works.
SATURDAY
After David Batchelor's 2006 Christmass Light Commission for the South Bank Centre it seems increasingly commonplace to see similar commissions appearing around this time of year. However there would be nowhere more suitable than The Two Jonnys for such a commission, as the ethos of the space lends itself to numerous interventions by artist's into the everyday fabric of the gallery / studio complex. In the past artists have been invited to design handles for the doors, signs for the gallery, bars and tables. This year Samuel Nias has produced a new installation including a Christmass light commission along with other new works. This is the last chance to see the exhibition before it closes.

ONGOING
Missed off last week but worth seeing and running until 1st February a group of young, emerging photographers are showing at the The Gallery at The Pall Mall Deposit on 124-128 Barlby Road. The artists, Beniamino Barasse, Sussy Cazalet, Cooper-Mitchell and Zoe Franklin are showing photographs ranging from the mountains of Peru to the vast expanses of Norfolks coast line, Brazilian Favelas and studies of human form and natures erosion.
TUESDAY
A shopspace show to start you off this week, at new artist run space Shop at 34 at 34 Great Queen Street in Covent Garden. The group exhibition soSHOW presents work from ten exciting up-and-coming artists including Clauda Djabbari, Blue Curry and Adam Thompson. It kicks off at 6pm and runs until the 19th December. For more about it go the Shop at 34 blog.
WEDNESDAY
Wednesday evening brings the opening of the last show in the University of the Arts' Davies Street gallery before it is eaten by crossrail's Bond Street expansion. The Arts Gallery has been their university's headquarters for over a decade and has shown works by Peter Doig, Gavin Turk, Sarah Lucas, Tom Hunter, Chris Ofili, Poppy de Villeneuve and Martin Creed amongst others. Now in the last show Mike Ballard will, as the University's communications officer puts it, 'embalm the space, covering floors, walls and ceilings creating a gargantuan, immersive artwork.' From Ballard's previous all wall paintings it does promise to be fairly epic and brilliantly over the top. More right here.
THURSDAY
If you are looking for a good old fashioned warehouse exhibition, then Departure Gallery - a new nomadic organisation, which proposes a series of shows in the unique architectural contexts of empty urban spaces. As warehouse shows go, this one looks to be a bit of a giant in a 35,000 sq ft space in Southall's Trading Estate and should invite works of an ambitious scale. There are 25 artists involved and a free pick up from Southall station. See their website for more info.
SATURDAY
