Preview of the week Special commissions, artists' talks, star-studded openings to deptford beginnings the capital has a range in store this week.

From the first viewing of special commissions, to openings of rising stars and complete unknowns, this week sees fresh and exciting ideas from traditional to cutting-edge disciplines bought to the heart of the capital.

TUESDAY

Head to 'The Gathering' at Bedfordbury Place, WC2, to see Art Barter star, Will Roper-Curzon's first major solo show. His exquisite draughtsmanship and sheer technical ability make for expressive and dynamic landscapes and portraits. Working in pen, ink, charcoal and colour his talent is demonstrated across a range of media within the drawing tradition. For more information click here.

THURSDAY

Aptly named 'Anything but Black and White,' Norwegian artist, Be Andr's new show at Post Box Gallery, will showcase new works that continue to explore the artist's fascination with words and numbers the effects on viewers' perceptions of blurring the two together. The private view starts at 6.30, click here for more information.

Matt Collishaw's specially commissioned homage to Sergei Paradjanov will be unveiled at the BFI, Southbank, tonight, to kickstart the new film season dedicated to the late Georgian/Armenian director's work. Fusing sculptural qualities with film, Collishaw has attempted to atmospherically evoke the reputed director's visionary style. Check out BFI for more information.

FRIDAY

Deptford's 'Dirty Cop Friday' is set to be a fun-filled round off to the week. Coinciding with the monthly late night openings of local galleries, the Old Police Station - DIY Art Centre is hosting a new experimental mix of work in the fields of music, art, film and fashion. An opportunity for budding artists to get the word out in an informal and diverse forum bound to attract like - minded souls. For more information click here.

Whilst you're there do pop into Hannah Barry Gallery on Copeland Road to check out the newly opened 'Green Hill Zone,' a joint exhibition by Tim Bouckley and Michael Allen.

From prizes and artist talks to blockbuster openings and student exhibitions, this weeks exhibitions calendar is full of something for everyone.

TUESDAY

Operating as part of the Serpentine's off-site project space around Edgware Road, visit Al Shishawi this evening and join the debate 'Politics: Home and Away'. Artists Oreet Ashery and Larissa Sansour with psychoanalyst Jacqueline Rose and local student activists discuss how Middle East politics resonate in London. Be there from 6 - 8pm

For something south of the river this evening why not visit Intersecting Disciplines at Camberwell Space. Opening this evening with a Special Viewing (5.00-7.30pm), Intersecting Disciplines presents recent work of seven contemporary artists and designers all graduates of the Ceramics BA Honours course at Camberwell College of Arts (Robert Dawson, Ikuko Iwamoto, Philip Li, Nicola Malkin, Sara Radstone, Bodo Sperlien and Julian Stair).

If you are in the neighbourhood you can also stroll over to see the recent progress of Michael Landy's Art Bin.

WEDNESDAY

Billed as the spring's blockbuster exhibition opening this evening is Henry Moore at Tate Britain. Presenting over 150 stone sculptures, wood carvings, bronzes and drawings, the exhibition takes a fresh look a one of Britain's most renowned and influential artists.

FRIDAY

Coming to a close this evening is Art & Language at the Lisson Gallery. Having played a pivotal role in the development of conceptual art in Britain throughout the 60's, this exhibition presents new works by Art & Language and reviews their continuing influence. The exhibition includes the major installation Portraits and a Dream and closes this evening with Michael Baldwin and Mel Ramsden of Art & Language in conversation with Greg Hilty, Lisson Gallery Curatorial Director. SATURDAY

Opened recently and well worth a visit is this year's Deutsche Börse Photography Prize. The prize rewards a living photographer, of any nationality, who has made the most significant contribution, in exhibition or publication format, to the medium of photography over the previous year. The four shortlisted artists for this year's Prize are Anna Fox, Zoe Leonard, Sophie Ristelhueber and Donovan Wylie.
