In Fragments is an exhibition that brings together fourteen young and exciting emerging artists from the Royal University College of Fine Arts in Stockholm. It is their first London based show and should prove to be an interesting one.
I was in the area today and since the door was invitingly open I popped in to have a look at the preparation before the official opening tonight. there is all sorts of art to be seen spanning across a wide range of styles and medium. It comprises of painting, sculpture, photography and video and tackles a range of issues and concepts.
I had a quick discussion with one of the artists who told me that the core aim was to provide an opportunity for young Swedish-based artists to present their ideas to a wider audience and to build up a steady bridge with the London art scene, which they see as a throbbing center point for emerging art.
There are also a few artists exhibiting along side the Swedish students who studied at Central St Martins. This accentuates the bonding of relationships and collaboration of interest that is so often fruitful in the realms of creativity.
The exhibition`s private viewing will be open this evening from 6 until 9pm. It runs until the 26th and is open daily fro, now until then from 12 until 4pm.
