With the snow now drowned by the dreary drizzling grey skies what colourful exhibitions can one peruse over the coming week? Here are a few plucked proposals for you.

This evening, Monday 9th, is the date for the private view of 'Moistworks' at the Hold and Freight Gallery. This looks like an excellently engaging exhibition since the art on display is all influenced and specific to a particular site in London. The show incorporates painting, sculpture and film. Nine artists will be exhibiting and they are all from Chelsea College of Art & Goldsmiths. For more information click here.

Tuesday 10th sees the private view of an exhibition at Goldsmiths College, University of London. It is open to the public from the 11th and runs for two days until the 13th. The exhibition is in association with Eva London and the Student's Union and will showcase the winning and finalist photographs from the Goldsmiths Fashion Photography Competition. It is all too easy to dismiss fashion photography as a 'lesser ' form of art, however the likes of Mario Testino have clearly exemplified the sturdy bridge that can be crossed between the two. There will hopefully be many experimental works to be seen. The exhibition takes place in the Student's Union and is open from 9am to 9pm daily. For more information click here.

Skipping on to Thursday there is a splendid event taking place at 'Shunt' which is located in the hollow and cavernous arches beneath London Bridge. This event runs each evening from Thursday to Saturday of this week and is a feast of performance, theatre, music and poetry. I seriously recommend checking this out since the space alone is breathtaking. Installations pepper the caves and the whole thing is very effective. For more information click here.

There is a show this Friday 13th at the Transition Gallery. If you brave stepping out on this particularly spooky date then what better place to seek refuge? 'The Pleasure's All Mine' is a show consisting of four artists. Rachel Thorlby, Sarah Gillham, Liane Lang and Mindy Lee. Mindy Lee is, as well as being a practicing artist, the curator of the Blyth Gallery. This show runs until March 8th and should well be worth a visit. Click here for more information.
