We went to visit Alexis Harding in his studio in Bow late last week. A very worthwhile trip: he has a great space and we were fortunate that there was a good body of his latest series of work around. He's a very interesting guy to talk to. We had a good discussion about his move away from his early grid work (for a great discussion of this read New Art From London by Chris Townsend), and his new focus on the incorporation of symbols and lines.

Alexis' work is open to a great amount of critical discussion due to its unique process. We felt his new series of work has a more formalist nature; more overtly highlighting the process at work and exploring more deeply the properties of the paint used. Hugely engaging and very open to personal interpretation we really enjoyed his work. His latest show has just finished unfortunately, but you can check out some his work and information on upcoming shows here.
