A new week and as sure as the climbing morning sun here are a new selection of art events happening over the coming few days.
Opening on Tuesday 24th and running all week until the 28th at La Galleria is an exhibition of artwork and prose by adults with autism. The work exhibited will be auctioned off alongside bespoke art by well known artists. The exhibition is free and open to the public however the auction costs £20 to enter. In order to view some of the art available at the auction then simply click here.
On Wednesday 25th there is a performance-art showcase at Vilma Gold Gallery by Edwin Burdis. Edward has been contributing to the London creative scene since early 2000. He is particularly well respected throughout the international music and art scene. His most recent focus has been on performance and presenting specific cultural narratives. Expect to see recited texts, experimental sound editing, live percussion and stage drawing acts. For more information click here
Thursday 26th sees a very promising event begin. Housed within Gallery 118 in Notting Hill is a body of work by the London based creative collective, Leftovers. Leftovers are a group involved in organizing exhibitions and live music nights. They aim to help up and coming artists by providing them with a steady platform upon which they can showcase their talent. For this exhibition titled 'Leftovers in the Gallery' the collective have teamed up with Gallery 118 to present some of their recent work. For more information then click here.
The Drawing Gallery is the only private gallery in the UK to focus entirely upon exhibiting and selling contemporary drawing. On the 28th it will open up for the private view of its new exhibition '40 artists - 40 drawings'. One can assume rather readily what might be on show at this particular exhibition. This show is intended to parallel the display at the Victoria & Albert Museum of works bought from the Drawing Gallery in 2007. The private viewing is open this Saturday from 2pm till 6pm.
