In recent years the proliferation of computer enhanced and created imagery has increased to the point of saturation, its biggest exponents being the film and TV industries. Presenting an ever more idealistic and malleable model of reality this digital utopia is changing the way in which we perceive the world around us. Taking inspiration from Romantic ideals surrounding the ‘sublime landscape’ my work explores our relationship to this new medium within a sculptural context, highlighting the ambiguities that exist between functionality, form and the concepts of the real and the virtual; offering a momentary sense of wonder; a time and place outside of the now.
