Wimbledon BA 2009 graduate Tyson Howard works across mediums and mainly within the field of sculpture, installation and print. His practice operates as an interface between the natural and the manmade, in which a challenging exploration of materials creates a palpable tension between objects. In an attempt to sensitively make visible a state of vulnerability, Howard not only questions our expectations of the work, but also the artists role and responsibility towards the viewer. This first set of works consigned to murmurART represent a body of work that draws out a sense of variation within the artists practice, while at the same time demonstrating the refined set of ideas underpinned by a particular sense of aesthetic judgement. In a play between the poetic and processual Howard’s works configure a moment of fragility.

In his first consignment of works for murmurART, the artist shows a technical ability that stretches beyond the configuration of objects within his installations. The artist’s meticulous eye for material combinations is firmly balanced with an understanding of composition and knowledge of printing processes.
